Presented as the brand’s most powerful 120mm version, Arctic P12 Max is an evolution of the P12 PST that focuses exclusively on providing the highest performance by discarding RGB lighting and aesthetic content. The double ball bearing motor offers PWM control, supports up to 3300 RPM, and has a zero RPM mode. With a high flow that is ideal for computer cases and a static pressure of over 4 mmH2O, they are also a great choice for radiators. Let’s see what they can do!

Design and construction

At first glance, Arctic P12 Max is characterized by a robust design that inspires resistance and professional character, with each unit weighing 184 grams. Currently, only the 120mm version is available, but the release of the 140mm version should only be a matter of time. These fans do not have integrated RGB lighting, making them more discreet and suitable for chassis focused on performance rather than aesthetics.



The chassis is made of rigid plastic with square frames that integrate the corners and containment ring, all in black. The rubber covers on the corners and double-sided where the screw holes are located are the only gray details. The mounting area consists of 4 small pins, and the cable is discreetly and almost invisibly routed over one of them until it exits through a corner.

The spinning area of Arctic P12 Max is conformed of 5 large helical blades with a curved design that covers a large area to maximize the collection and thrust of air inward. The outer ring that holds the blades is designed for stability at high RPMs, maximizing the moment of inertia, and concentrating the flow of air. A small white brand sticker in the central area is not relevant.

Arctic P12 Max will be one of the fastest fans on the market, able to spin in a range of 200 to 3300 RPM with PWM control via a 4-pin header. It also has a zero RPM mode that shuts off completely below 5% PWM signal, allowing for ultra-quiet chassis configurations.

The motor operates in a range of 3.9 to 12VDC and 0.29A, provided with double ball bearings for durability. A dynamic fluid system has not been used, possibly due to the high RPM range that the fan supports. At maximum capacity, it generates an airflow of 81.04 CFM and a static pressure of 4.35 mmH2O, producing a maximum noise of approximately 26 dBA (0.6 Sone). Despite their high speed, they are considerably quiet.

In conclusion, Arctic provides fans for PC performance users who demand the best and these fans will undoubtedly perform their task perfectly. With a 120mm format, they achieve great airflow and static pressure thanks to their high speed of approaching 3500 RPM, PWM control, and semi-passive mode for ultra-quiet configurations.

The aesthetic aspect is not the focus for these units, but we should not underestimate their high manufacturing quality, super stable blade design at high RPMs, and robust chassis. The only missing feature is long screws for liquid cooling since they are suitable for chassis use and will also perform great in liquid cooling.
